St. Michael’s has a vibrant outreach ministry. We’ve touched peoples lives locally and around the globe.
Ministry Mission Statement: to encourage members of the St. Michael’s parish to express their Christ-ness through various outreach projects; thus extending the hand of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The following are the current 2010 ministry projects:
1st Sunday of the Month — Is Outreach Sunday. Four to six volunteers gather to assist in serving a meal at the Capital City Rescue Mission. Depart from church at 3:45pm. Contribution envelopes to fund our Outreach ministry are placed in the bulletin and available any time in the Narthex for your monetary contributions.
Yellow Basket — In the Narthex is for donations of personal or trial size personal hygiene goods such as disposable razors, soap, shampoo, etc… Donations will be brought to the Capital City Rescue Mission.
Families Together (ongoing collection) Please place your non-perishable food donations in the basket in the Narthex. Food will be donated to the Families Together project of Colonie to help support local families. Monetary contributions are also welcome.
Mudge Family Ministry – Reverends Julia and Shaw Mudge and their daughter Lydia (from Christ’s Church in Duanesburg) have been accepted by the Bishop of the Diocese of Peru to be missionary professor at St. Augustine Seminary to help train seminarians. There are more students than professors. They will also be assisting the Anglican Diocese of Peru to equip it people be become better lay leaders and deacons. This is a unique and new ministry. The outreach committee chose to donate $100 to support there ministry.
